Former Seawolf standout Alysha Devine begins her collegiate coaching career in 2017-18 as an assistant coach for former mentor Ryan McCarthy.
The Wasilla native was a 4-year letterwinner from 2013-17, earning honorable mention All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference honors her final two seasons, and helping UAA to NCAA Tournament berths every year. In her four seasons, the Seawolves won three GNAC regular-season and tournament titles, reached the 2016 NCAA Div. II National Title Game, and posted a combined record of 116-16.
As a versatile forward, Devine scored 785 career points and finished among the program's top 20 in games played (121), games started (93), rebounds (487), steals (140) and three-pointers made (65). In addition to earning three consecutive GNAC All-Academic Team awards, Devine won the Most Valuable Player honor at the 2016 NCAA Div. II West Regional Championships.
Prior to her Seawolf career, Devine earned three straight Alaska 4A State titles at Wasilla High School, where she was named the 2013 Alaska Gatorade Player of the Year.
