Volunteer Assistant

Former Seawolf Jesse Brown joins the Alaska Anchorage men’s basketball staff for his first season as a volunteer assistant under head coach Rusty Osborne.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Brown returns north after coaching the past seven seasons in the Northwest Athletic Association, including the last two as associate head coach at Green River Community College in Washington. He spent the 2007-08 campaign and from 2009-13 as an assistant at his JC alma mater, Tacoma Community College, before serving as interim head coach in 2013-14. Brown also served as a volunteer assistant for the 2008-09 UAA women’s team that went 31-4 and advanced to the NCAA Div. II semifinals.

After suiting up for the Seawolves from 2001-04, Brown earned his B.A. in history from UAA in 2009. He added a master’s degree in human performance (coaching emphasis) from Adams State University in 2016.

He and his wife Katie are the parents of a young daughter, Haddie.
