ANCHORAGE – The University of Alaska Anchorage has finalized the men’s field for the 2010 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout, UAA athletic director Dr. Steve Cobb announced Wednesday.
Along with host Alaska Anchorage, squads from Arizona State, Ball State, Drake, Houston Baptist, St. John’s, Southeast Louisiana and Southern Utah will appear at Sullivan Arena for the 33rd annual college basketball tournament.
After one year as a 6-team tournament, the event will revert to its traditional 8-team, bracket format in 2010. Next year’s men’s tourney is scheduled for Nov. 24-27.
Teams for the women’s tournament, set for Nov. 23-24, have not yet been finalized.
