MCMINNVILLE, ORE. – The Alaska Anchorage track and field teams won nine events at the Linfield Invite Saturday.
The Seawolves swept the top-four spots in the women’s 400. Marie Ries earned the win after running 57.40, and Tylantis Atlas was second in 58.45. Vanessa Aniteye was third (58.63), and D’Rhema Alston fourth (59.65).
Jeptoo won the 1,500 earlier in the day with a time of 4:36.20.
Both the men and women won the 4x100 in 42.13 and 48.32 respectively, and the women added the 4x400 title after running 4:02.11.
Elena Cano won the 100 hurdles (14.90) and finished second in the long jump (18-0.5).
Chris Brake cleared 6-4.25 in the high jump to finish second.
Yvonne Jeschke was second in the women’s 400 hurdles (1:05.10), and Daryle Bushnell was fourth in the men’s (58.86).
UAA will compete at the GNAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Western Oregon May 10-11.
