ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Hailey Swirbul and Hannah Rudd each skied their way onto Team USA for the World Junior Championships thanks to strong finishes in the classic races at the US National Championships at Kincaid Park Sunday.

The World Junior Championships will take place Jan. 30 to February 8 in Kandersteg, Switzerland.

Hailey Swirbul recorded her third podium finish in as many races finishing second in the five-kilometer classic in a time of 15:18.

Hannah Rudd finished eighth in a time of 15:55, and Jenna Difolco placed 16th with a time of 16:07.

This will be the third time that Swirbul will compete for Team USA at World Juniors while Rudd will be making her first team.

“All the women skied well today,” said head Nordic coach Andrew Kastning. “Hailey earned her third podium of the week which is really impressive. Jenna skied great too. The race was a chaotic 5K and she did a great job skiing through the field.”

The US National Championships conclude Monday with the classic sprints.
