HUNTSVILLE, ALA. – Tanner Schachle scored his first career goal for Alaska Anchorage in a 6-3 loss at Alabama Huntsville Saturday.

Eric Sinclair gave UAA the early lead when he scored with a long blast on the powerplay at 11:11 of the first frame. Nils Rygaard and Joe Sofo assisted on the goal.

Cam Knight tied the game at 1-1 with a goal for the Chargers at 3:10 of the second period, but Schachle scored 42 seconds later to give UAA a 2-1 lead. Eric Sinclair and Drake Glover each assisted on the goal.

Huntsville scored three more goals in the second period, including two short-handed, to extend their lead to 4-2.

Jeremiah Luedtke found Cam Amantea in the slot for his second goal of the season at 8:20 of the third period. Nils Rygaard recorded his second assist of the game on the goal.

The Chargers added an empty-net goal at 18:55 and an even-strength goal at 19:51 to complete the scoring.

Kristian Stead made 23 saves for UAA.

Both teams finished with 29 shots. UAA was 1-for-6 on the powerplay and UAH was 1-for-4.

Alaska Anchorage will host Michigan Tech Jan. 25-26.
