Alaska Anchorage will travel north for a two-game series at Alaska Fairbanks. The two-game series will be the first half of the annual Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup Weekend. The two teams will meet the final weekend of the season (March 1-2) for the final two games of the Cup. 
Alaska Anchorage leads the all-time series with Alaska Fairbanks 91-66-12 and leads the series in Fairbanks 42-40-5. The Seawolves are on a two-game winning streak against the Nanooks. 
Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup
Alaska Fairbanks won the inaugural Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup in 1993-94 and has won the cup 14 times. Alaska Anchorage has raised the Cup 11 times with its win in 2008-09. UAF’s three Cups won in 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 were forfeited. UAA trails 35-38-7 in games against UAF in the Governor’s Cup. 
Alaska Anchorage’s 0-0 tie with Michigan Tech was the second 0-0 tie this season for the Seawolves. The team’s previous tie was against Bowling Green on Nov. 10 at Sullivan Arena. 
Kristian Stead recorded his first career shutout with a 0-0 tie against Michigan Tech on Jan. 26th. The Merritt, British Columbia, native stopped 29 shots in the tie and stopped one of two shots to give UAA the shootout win. 
Out of the Box
Sophomore Jordan Xavier is the only skater on the team who has not been whistled for a penalty this season. 
Senior Scoring
The senior class leads the team in both goals (16) and points (30). The sophomore class leads the team with 17 assists. 
Seawolf in the Pros
Former UAA forward Jay Beagle (2005-07) played in his 500th career NHL game for the Vancouver Canucks Monday. He has scored 53 goals and 71 assists for 124 points in the NHL. 
Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage lost 3-0 to Michigan Tech but took two points with a 0-0 tie and shootout win the following night.
