BIG RAPIDS, MICH. – Ferris State scored twice in the second period to earn a 2-0 win over Alaska Anchorage in WCHA play Friday.

UAA goalie Olivier Mantha turned away all 21 shots he faced in the first period on his way to a season-high 46 saves on the night.

Jacob Hetz got the Bulldogs on the board with a shot from the blue line at 13:49 of the second.

Trevor Recktenwald grew the FSU lead to 2-0 with a high wrist shot at 16:27.

The last time Alaska Anchorage was shutout was by Ferris State on Feb. 18, 2017.

FSU out-shot UAA 48-22 and both teams finished 0-3 on the man-advantage.

UAA (1-8-4, 1-3-3) and FSU (7-9-1, 4-4-1) will close out the season series Saturday.
