ANCHORAGE – Alaska Anchorage gymnastics coach Tanya Ho announced Wednesday that former Seawolf standout Marie-Sophie Boggasch has rejoined the program as a graduate assistant coach.

A four-year letterwinner, Boggasch competed on vault, bars and floor exercise for UAA from 2013-16, helping the Seawolves break school records for team season average and RQS as a both a junior and senior. A three-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team honoree, she tied for runner-up on uneven bars at the 2015 MPSF Championships.

“I’m certain that Marie-Sophie will be a tremendous addition to our coaching staff,” said Ho, who is entering her second year at the helm. “Having seen her compete and knowing her work ethic, she will be an excellent role model for our student-athletes.”

Originally from Schwarzenbach am Wald, Germany, Boggasch graduated from UAA with a 4.00 grade-point average in 2016, earning her bachelor's degree in aviation technology. She is currently pursuing a master of science degree in interdisciplinary studies at UAA.
