ANCHORAGE – Mackenzie Miller scored a 38.025 all-around Saturday to highlight the 2018 Alaska Anchorage gymnastics team’s season premiere in the annual Green & Gold Intrasquad exhibition at the Alaska Airlines Center.
A sophomore from Waterford, Mich., Miller finished among the top four performers on each event, scoring a runner-up 9.625 on bars and a 9.5 on floor exercise.
Sophomore Sophia Hyderally posted a meet-high 9.775 on balance beam and placed runner-up on floor with a 9.55, while junior Kaylin Mancari took top honors on floor at 9.65. A pair of freshmen also scored individual wins as Hope Nelson placed first on bars with a 9.675 and Isabella Scalapino placed first on vault with a 9.6. Nelson was also runner-up on beam with a 9.7.
The meet was not officially scored as a team competition.
The Seawolves have another month to train before the beginning of the regular season, Jan. 12 & 14 when they host Cortland at the Alaska Airlines Center.
