WOODLAND, Calif. – Alaska Anchorage junior Kendra Daniels has been chosen the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation’s Specialist of the Week for women’s gymnastics, the league office announced Tuesday.

The Veneta, Ore., native posted a pair of career highs in meets at UC Davis, including a school-record 9.9 balance beam routine on Sunday. In addition to winning the individual beam competition, Daniels tied the second-best mark in MPSF history and became just the fifth Seawolf to hit the 9.9 barrier on any apparatus.

On floor, Daniels scored a career-high 9.75 in Friday’s meet, and followed Sunday with a 9.6 to help the Seawolves to a season-best 192.700 team total.

This marks the first career MPSF weekly honor for Daniels and the first for a Seawolf this season.

UAA is idle this week as it prepares for its regular-season home finales, Mar. 3 (7 p.m.) and Mar. 5 (2 p.m.) against Centenary. Call 907-786-1562 for ticket information or visit GoSeawolves.com to learn more.
