STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLO. – The Alaska Anchorage ski team remains in ninth place after the slalom events on day three of the NCAA Championships Friday.
"Tough night. Our kids tried to throw down and it didn't go our way," said head coach Sparky Anderson. "Georgia had a great second run, 10th on part two. Tony skied well but got late in the final flat and that killed his speed. We have great kids. They competed honorably, and I'm proud of their effort."
Amelia Smart of Denver won the women’s race in a time of 1:19.21, and Tanguy Nef of Dartmouth won the men’s in 1:20.49.
The NCAA Championships conclude Saturday with the Nordic freestyle races.
