CROSS COUNTRY Coaching Staff
Marko Cheseto
Graduate Assistant Coach

Former Seawolf All-American Marko Cheseto is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s and women’s cross country running teams and the men’s and women’s track & field teams in 2014-15.

Cheseto, from Kapenguria, Kenya, concluded his collegiate career as one of the most prolific runner to don the Green & Gold, capturing a combined six All-America certificates.

In cross country, Cheseto became first male runner to claim three GNAC individual titles and the first Seawolf to win two West Region titles – earning him West Region Male Athlete of the Year honors in 2009 and 2010.

On the track, Cheseto earned two All-America honors in 2010, finishing sixth in both the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters. In 2009, he became the first UAA track & field athlete to garner two All-America honors in the same season.

Currently, Cheseto still owns the GNAC record in the 10,000 meters at 29:08.28, recorded on April 16, 2009 at the Mt. SAC Relays.
