WHAT: Husky Invite

WHERE: Dempsey Indoor on the University of Washington Campus - Seattle, Wash. 
The Alaska Anchorage track and field teams will continue their indoor campaigns at the UW Preview hosted by the University of Washington. The meet will feature athletes from Div. 1, 2 and 3 in addition to several professional athletes.
5K Debuts
A number of Seawolves will be racing in the 5,000 Friday night in Seattle. Leading the Seawolves will be senior Caroline Kurgat, who set the all-time Div. II record in the 3,000 (9:07.05) on the same track two weeks prior. On the men’s side, Felix Kemboi, Wesley Kirui and Edwin Kangogo will all be toeing the line in the 5,000. 
First Win
Senior Eduardo Orozco collected the first win of his career by running 1:57.91 over 800 meters at the Ed Jacoby Invite. The King City, Calif., native has a personal-best of 1:55.86 for 800 meters. 
Runner-Up Finish
Freshman Drew Johnson posted his highest finish in a Seawolf singlet finishes second in the mile (4:17.64) and fourth in the 800 (1:59.97) in Boise. 
Jump Around
Alaska Anchorage posted five top-10 finishes in the jumps at the Ed Jacoby Invite. Chris Brake placed second in the triple jump (46-8.75) and third in the high jump (6-5). Brandon Nicholson finished third in the triple jump (45-11.75) and ninth in the long jump (21-1.25). Chrisalyn Johnson finished fourth in the long jump (17-11.75). 
Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will compete in the Husky Classic Feb. 8-9 before participating in the GNAC Championships.
