SEATTLE, Wash. - A handful of the Alaska Anchorage men's and women's indoor track & field members competed at a 'last chance' meet at Seattle Pacific, improving their provisional NCAA qualifying times on Saturday.
The women's 4x400-meter relay of Jamie Ashcroft, Mary-Kathleen Cross, Hayley Bezanson and Vanessa Aniteye finished a season-best time of 3:46.12. The new time moves them into the top-10 in Div. II this season and a chance at going to the NCAA meet.
Meanwhile, junior Tamara Perez provisionally qualified for the NCAAs in the one mile race, crossing the finish line at 4:53.09. That time ranks her No. 20 in Div. II.
Qualified individuals will compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships in mid March.
