USTFCCCA NATIONAL POLLS: In Week 2 of the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association national poll, the women’s team is ranked No. 11, while the men’s team sits at No. 24 ... the women’s team leads the GNAC’s Simon Fraser (No. 21), while the Seawolf men are the lone GNAC team ranked in the top 25.

NCAA QUALIFYING MARKS: After three meets, the Seawolves have combined for 13 NCAA times/marks, including one automatic NCAA qualifying (ANQ) mark ... leading the way with the ANQ in the heptathlon was senior Karolin Anders ... Anders registered 5,180 points to win the event and book herself to her final NCAA championship ... she currently ranks 5th in Div. II ... additionally, Anders set a provisional NCAA qualifying (PNQ) mark in the high jump at 5-6.5 at the Hornet Invite ... other women with a PNQ time or mark are sophomore Danielle McCormick (800m, No. 3 with school record of 2:07.75), junior Tamara Perez (800m, 2:11.57), sophomore Zennah Jepchumba (10K, No. 4 at 36:11.04), junior Mariah Burroughs (steeple, 10:39.44) and the 4x400-meter relay (No. 3 with school record 3:41.93) ... on the men’s side, senior Dominic Notz is ranked No. 5 in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:02.37 ... he leads junior Edwin Kangogo (14:24.08), who sits at No. 14 ... the men’s 4x400-meter relay (3:12.59) sits at No. 6 ... in the decathlon, senior Travis Turner posted a PNQ mark of 6,761 and is No. 10, while his teammate, freshman David Sramek, is also ranked at No. 13 (6,381) ... senior Tevin Gladden is No. 19 in the high jump (6-8.75), while freshman Christoph Sander is No. 15 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

LAST TIME OUT: Sophomore Danielle McCormick’s 800-meter performance highlighted the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on April 1 ... a local of Soldotna, McCormick broke the Seawolf record in the 800 meters with a winning time of 2:07.75 ... McCormick bypassed the old record of 2:09.34, set by another Soldotna local, Ivy O’Guinn in May of 2013 ... the time – which was a meet record – qualified McCormick provisionally for the NCAAs and is just .25 of a second off the automatic time ... meanwhile, the men’s team received two first-place results in the 4x100-meter relay and in the 110-meter hurdles ... the men’s relay posted a meet record and season-best time of 42.34 and was made up of sophomore Eric Jones, freshman David Sramek, junior Liam Lindsay and junior Darrion Gray ... winning the hurdles event was senior Travis Turner .... he won the prelims at 15.07, before taking the finals with a time of 14.80.
