Jr. PG Yazmeen Goo delivered 8 points (8-10 FT), 3 assists and 6 steals, while Sr. G Kian McNair tallied 6 assists and 3 steals, helping the Seawolves create 25 NNU turnovers ... on Saturday, Sr. C Hannah Wandersee had 21 points and 3 steals and Stallworth notched 19 points (8-9 FG, 3-3 3FG), 3 assists, 3 steals and no turnovers as UAA led from start to finish against Central ... Goo added 10 points (4-7 FG) and 4 assists and So. UAA has recorded 25 wins for the fifth straight season and earned its 15th 20-win season in 42 years of program history ... at 151-13 (.921), the Seawolves have the best winning percentage and the second-most victories in NCAA Div. II since 2014-15, trailing only Ashland (154-14, .917) in victories ... UAA is a combined 98-7 – including 45-4 on the road – in GNAC regular-season and tournament games over the last five seasons (since Dec. 2014) ... the Seawovles have won 30 consecutive GNAC regular-season home contests, posting 10-0 marks the last three seasons ... WONDERFUL WANDERSEE: The 2018-19 GNAC Preseason Player of the Year and a unanimous All-GNAC selection last year, Sr. C Hannah Wandersee has continued to rack up honors throughout the regular season, including all-tournament at the Gator Invitational and Seawolf Hoops Classic, MVP of the DII Coast to Coast Classic, and three GNAC Player of the Week awards (Nov. 19-25, Jan. 7-13, Jan. 28-Feb. 3) ... UAA’s leading scorer and rebounder, she is 5th in scoring (14.3 ppg), 8th in blocks (1.0 bpg), 3rd in FT% (.882) and 17th in FG% (.478) in the GNAC stats ... with recent scoring totals of 21 at Concordia-Portland, 28 at Simon Fraser and 21 vs. Central Washington, the Kodiak product now has 11 career 20-plus efforts ... one of three players in program history with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocks, Wandersee owns UAA career top-20 marks in scoring (9th, 1,282), rebounds (11th, 579), blocks (4th, 115), blocks per game (7th, 0.9), FG made (8th, 518), FG% (11th, .507), FT% (3rd, .830), FT made (13th, 224) and games played (t-2nd, 131), along with the most victories for any player in a Seawolf uniform with 120.


BEWARE OF T.N.T.: Whether it’s her sweet three-point stroke or her solid all-around game, Sr. G Tara (N.) Thompson has been one of the most effective contributors to UAA’s run of success, ranking No. 2 in program history with 118 victories ... one of two remaining active players from UAA’s 2016 NCAA Runner-Up squad, Thompson ranks 9th in the GNAC and 63rd nationally in 3FG% (.377), along with other league ranks of 7th in 3FGs per game (2.1) and 1st in assist-turnover ratio (2.9) ... with a .389 career 3FG%, Thompson ranks 9th in UAA history and top 20 in GNAC history, while her 221 total 3FGs trail only former teammate Jenna Buchanan (239, 2012-16) on UAA’s all-time list.


SENIOR SHOW STEALERS: After learning the system as transfers last year, Sr. G Kian McNair (Portland State) and Sr. G Sydni Stallworth (2-time 1st Team NJCAA All-American at Pima CC) are making major impacts in their final season ... a starter in 48 of 58 career games, McNair leads the GNAC and is 4th nationally with 3.6 steals per game, boosted by a record-tying 9-steal game against Simon Fraser, 8 steals against Saint Martin’s and 7 against Concordia and at SMU ... with multiple steals in 25 of 28 games, she is on pace to challenge both the UAA and GNAC single-season records for steals per game ... the Most Outstanding Player in November’s Seawolf Hoops Classic and an all-tourney pick at the DII Hoops Classic, McNair also holds GNAC ranks of 12th in assists per game (3.2) and assist-turnover ratio (1.6) ... meanwhile, Stallworth has provided a big lift both off the bench and in the starting lineup, scoring in double figures 15 times – including a current string of eight straight games (14.6 ppg) – and dishing four-plus assists on 10 occasions ... the Tucson, Ariz., native is shooting a blazing 32 of 54 (.593) from three-point range since Jan. 10, pushing her into the GNAC lead with a .5064 overall 3FG% and also putting her on pace to become UAA’s career leader in 3FG% at .476 ... Stallworth has committed only five turnovers in her last eight outings (spanning 196 minutes) to rise to 2nd in the GNAC in A/T ratio at 2.1, while in the other league stats she is 13th in assists per game (3.1), 8th in steals per game (2.0) and 14th in 3FGs per game (1.6).


GOO STUFF: A unanimous Preseason All-GNAC selection, Jr. PG Yazmeen Goo made her return to the lineup on Jan. 10 after missing 10 games with a hand injury ... since sheddding her protective cast 12 games ago, she has delivered 40 steals, 38 assists and averaged 9.8 ppg ... a 2017-18 Honorable Mention All-GNAC pick, Goo has multiple steals in 16 of her 18 outings this year, ranking 2nd in the GNAC and top 10 nationally with 3.4 spg ... she also holds league ranks of 3rd in FG% (.563) and 14th in assists per game (3.1) ... on UAA’s career lists, Goo already ranks in the top 10 in assists (5th, 307), assists per game (9th, 3.9), steals (6th, 200) and steals per game (9th, 2.6), plus 15th in FTs made (214) and 19th in FG% (.470).


’WOLF BITES: So. F Sala Langi has stepped into a larger role this season and emerged as one of the GNAC’s most versatile players, delivering 7.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game ... with multiple assists in 17 games, 7-plus rebounds in five games and double-digit scoring in 10 games, Langi has shown equal proficiency as a scorer, passer and rebounder ... one of five Bay Area natives on the roster, she posted a career-high 10 rebounds in the second win over Holy Names, and she delivered a career-high 17-point effort, while dishing four assists without a turnover against MSUB ... the Seawolves have added another scoring threat with Jr. G Safiyyah Yasin, who redshirted in 2017-18 after transfering from Diablo Valley (Calif.) College ... prior to her breakout performances against SFU and WWU in early January, Yasin led UAA with 16 points in her debut against Holy Names, and she delivered a clutch 16 points to help fend off Hawaii Pacific ... along with double-figure scoring efforts in nine games and multiple steals in 20 contests, Yasin ranks 4th in the GNAC and 59th nationally with 2.3 steals per game, making 47 swipes over the last 17 contests ... So. F/C Tennae Voliva has displayed increased production since entering the starting lineup six games ago, averaging 5.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game ... Voliva has accounted for at least five points in 12 games and at least four rebounds in 14 contests ... the former East Anchorage HS star leads UAA in FG% at .515 (51 of 99) and is second on the team with 14 blocks ... UAA got a boost in mid-December and early January with the addition of So. F Cameron Fernandez to the lineup on Dec. 18, following a preseason injury, but Fernandez has missed the last 14 games with another injury issue ... the first Seawolf transfer ever from a Pac-12 Conference program, the former Washington State Cougar debuted in Green & Gold with 9 points against Holy Names and a team-high 13 points against Hawaii Hilo, doing all of her damage in just 32 combined minutes.


MASTER OF MAYHEM: Now in his seventh season at UAA and eighth season as a head coach, Ryan McCarthy has ascended to the top of two impressive lists this year, as the NCAA Div. II active leader in career winning percentage (.817) and the all-time winningest coach in UAA women’s basketball history ... on Jan. 27, McCarthy passed Linda Bruns (176-142, 1979-91) with his 177th victory to become the Seawolves’ career wins leader ... since coming north in 2012, McCarthy has led the Seawolf program to unprecedented heights, capturing four straight GNAC regular-season tournament titles, five straight NCAA Tournament berths, and ascending as high as No. 1 or No. 2 in the national rankings every season from 2014-15 through 2017-18 ... last year, McCarthy earned his second consecutive GNAC Coach of the Year honor and third in the last four seasons, while his three-year reign as WBCA NCAA Div. II West Region Coach of the Year came to an end ... in 2016-17, the Anchorage native led UAA to its third straight top-2 regional seed and its second straight 30-win season (30-2), while recording the first 20-0 league record in GNAC history ... the previous season, McCarthy’s crew set an NCAA Div. II record with 38 victories, advancing all the way to the 2016 National Title Game in Indianapolis ... his 2014-15 club claimed what was then the best winning percentage in program history with a 29-2 (.935) mark, sweeping both GNAC titles as well ... McCarthy led UAA to an improvement in overall wins (17, 19, 29, 38) his first four seasons and increased the Seawolves’ GNAC victory total in each of his first five campaigns (11, 12, 17, 18, 20) … playing its up-tempo ‘Mayhem’ style, McCarthy’s crews led the nation in steals per game for four straight seasons  (2013-14 to 2016-17) ... McCarthy sports head-coaching records of 187-32 (.854) in seven seasons at UAA and 201-45 (.817) in eight seasons overall, having served in an interim capacity at Northwest Nazarene in 2010-11 … McCarthy is assisted by 7th-year associate head coach Shaina Afoa, who was voted by her peers as the 2017-18 WBCA NCAA Div.
