ANCHORAGE – The Alaska Anchorage men's basketball team will take the Alaska Airlines Center court at least 19 times in 2017-18 as head coach Rusty Osborne unveiled the Seawolves' schedule for the upcoming campaign Friday.

After starting on the road against Antelope Valley on Nov. 4, the Seawolves will make their home debut Nov. 10-11 when they host NCAA Div. II West Region rivals Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific in the Alaska/Hawaii Challenge. The following week features another West Region foe as Bay Area program Holy Names makes its first visit to Anchorage on Nov. 17-18.

For the 40th consecutive year, the Seawolves will again face three straight NCAA Div. I opponents in the GCI Great Alaska Shootout, set for Nov. 22-25 at the Alaska Airlines Center. This year's visiting teams are Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield, Central Michigan, College of Charleston, Idaho, Sam Houston State and Santa Clara. Brackets will be announced later this summer.

The 20-game Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule gets under way early with home games against longtime rivals Alaska Fairbanks on Nov. 28 and Montana State Billings on Nov. 30, and the non-league slate wraps up Dec. 5-6 with home contests against Cal Miramar.

Other key dates among UAA's 10 league home games include Jan. 6 against Seattle Pacific, Jan. 20 against defending GNAC champion Western Washington, Jan. 27 against 2016 NCAA semifinalist Western Oregon, and Feb. 10 for ‘senior night' against Central Washington.

Despite the relatively early end to the home regular season, the Seawolves will have the chance for more games at the Alaska Airlines Center as the GNAC Championships tournament comes to Anchorage for the first time, Mar. 1-3. The top six regular-season finishers in the 11-team league will qualify for the eighth annual tournament.

The NCAA Div. II West Regional Championships are set for Mar. 9-12 at a to-be-determined campus host site, while the 2018 NCAA Div. II Elite Eight will be held Mar. 20-24 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
