ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Senior Jacob Lampkin recorded his sixth double-double of the season scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to lead the Alaska Anchorage men’s basketball team to a 74-62 win over MSU Billings Thursday.
UAA improves to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the GNAC, while the loss was the first for MSUB (5-1, 0-1) this season.
The Seawolves offense shot 50-percent (14-28) in the first, led by Lampkin who scored 14 points in the half on 6-9 shooting, to lead 37-27.
UAA’s offense cooled off in the second half to 29-percent (9-31). The Seawolves out-scored the Yellow Jackets 37-35 in the second half, despite making just one field goal over the final seven minutes.
The Green and Gold enjoyed a lopsided edge in free throws shooting 26-30 (86-percent) for the game, and 18-20 for the game. Billings shot 8-11 (72-percent) from the line in the contest.
D.J. Ursery was the second Seawolf in double digits with 14 points.
Kendall Denham led MSUB with a game-high 20 points.
Alaska Anchorage recorded 18 assists on 23 field goals with only seven turnovers.
Alaska Anchorage will host Cal Miramar in a pair of exhibition games Dec. 5 and 6.
