ANCHORAGE – Senior outside hitter Tereza Bendlova notched 20 kills and junior Simone Chavous had a double-double Saturday to lead Alaska Fairbanks to a 3-1 victory over Drury in the third match of the Extended Stay Deluxe Invitational volleyball tournament at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

UAF (1-1) also got 39 assists, 12 digs and nine kills from setter Mandy Grierson in the 26-24, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19 decision, avenging Friday night’s loss against the Panthers.

Drury (1-2), from Springfield, Mo., was led by 16 kills and three blocks from middle blocker Kyrie Hopkins.

The Invitational will conclude at 6 p.m. tonight when Drury takes on host and 24th-ranked Alaska Anchorage at the WFSC.
