ANCHORAGE - Thirty-one Alaska Anchorage student-athletes participated in the 12th annual "Reading with the Seawolves" program on Friday afternoon at Scenic Park Elementary School.

Coordinated by UAA associate director Dede Allen, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and staff, the program helps Seawolf student-athletes connect with local youth while encouraging reading and healthy attitudes towards exercise and school. All 11 of UAA's team teams were represented.

"We are proud that 'Reading With the Seawolves' has been such a popular event with our student-athletes," said Allen. "It is truly eye-opening for them to see the positive impact they can have on young children, and the kids really respond with a great deal of enthusiasm to their visit. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the future."
