ANCHORAGE - Alaska Anchorage All-American Cody Parker will look
to book a ticket to London for the 2012 Summer Games when he competes in the
men's javelin at the Canadian Olympic Track & Field Trials Friday.
A local of Comox, B.C., Parker, who wrapped up his freshman season in May, enters the Canadian
trials with a career-best toss of 241 feet, one inch (73.50), set July 23, 2011
in Miramar, Fla. This past season with UAA, Parker posted a Great Northwest
Athletic Conference mark of 232-5 (70.84).
The NCAA Div. II third-place finisher in 2012, Parker ranks sixth
in the trials, while Scott Russell leads the 15-member field with a toss of
278-3.
The men's javelin is schedule to commence at 4:45 ADT. Live
