ANCHORAGE - Former UAA basketball star Taylor Rohde has
signed a contract to play for USC Heidleberg, a club in Germany's ProA

coach Rusty Osborne, "He has worked hard and represented Seawolf basketball in
a first class manner. Now he is being rewarded for that hard work and I am
positive that he will continue to grow and develop as both a player and a
A 6-9, 255-pound center, Rohde is coming off an
outstanding 2011-12 season that saw him be named National Player of the Year by
Division II Bulletin after leading the Seawolves to a 23-7 record and NCAA 2nd
Round berth. The Phoenix, Ariz., native was also a consensus All-America First
Team pick by NABC, Basketball Times and D-II Bulletin, while being voted
Daktronics West Region Player of the Year and GNAC Player of the Year.
USC Heidleberg, which finished 13-15 last season, is
located in Heidleberg, a city of about 145,600 located 60 miles south of Frankfurt.
The season runs from October through March.
