NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Three Alaska Anchorage Seawolves competed in Day 1 of the Northridge Spring Break Multi Thursday, with senior Kelsea Johnson posting three career-bests in the women’s heptathlon.

Johnson finished the four events in the top seven with a meet-high fourth-place finish and personal best in the shot put at 35 feet, 10 inches. Johnson also set career-highs in the 200-meter run (26.00) and 100-meter hurdles (15.30), finishing fifth in both. The Sitka native also posted a 4-11 mark in the high jump.

On the men’s side, seniors Wyatt Morgan and Micah Johnson competed for the Green & Gold in the decathlon. A local of Yamhill, Ore., Morgan’s best finish came in the men’s 400 meters, concluding the race with a time of 52.46, good for ninth place. Johnson, a newcomer from Baker City, Ore., also posted his highest finish of the day in the 400m, finishing 14th at 54.46.

The trio will wrap up the final day of the multi-events tomorrow, while the UAA distance crew will head to Occidental College for the Occidental Distance Carnival in Eagle Rock, Calif.
