USTFCCCA rank UAA in top 20
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Alaska Anchorage men’s and women’s track & field teams continued to be ranked in the top 20 nationally, according to the national team computer rankings conducted by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday. The women’s team stayed at No. 8 for the third straight week, while the men’s squad sits at No. 17.
The women’s team continues to lead the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with its nearest league foe, Seattle Pacific, dropping seven positions to No. 19. The Seawolves are third in the West Region, trailing Grand Canyon and Chico State, respectively.
The men’s team, which has been polled in the top 20 since the start of the 2010 season, dropped two slots in Week 3 after being ranked 15th last week. The Seawolves are the lone GNAC team in the top 25 and are sixth in the West Region, with Chico State topping the chart.
Leading Div. II is Grand Canyon on the women’s side and Saint Augustine’s on the men’s side.
UAA is in action this weekend at the annual Mt. SAC Relays (April 19-21), Bryan Clay Invitational (April 20) and at the Long Beach State Invitational (April 21).
