EAGLE ROCK, Calif.- Sophomore Ivy O'Guinn led the Alaska Anchorage men's and women's track & field teams at the Occidental Invitational on Saturday, besting her own Seawolf record and booking herself a ticket to Nationals in the 1500 meters.

In addition to the new school record, 16 season bests and eight personal records were set, along with three podium finishes at the Patterson Field and Bill Henry Track on the campus of Occidental.

A local of Soldotna, O'Guinn posted a NCAA automatic time of four minutes, 25.19 seconds in the 1500 meters - the sixth-fastest time in GNAC history - while finishing third. A 2011 NCAA participant, O'Guinn had broken the record earlier this season on April 19 with a time of 4:28.26.

Collecting a NCAA provisional time in the men's 5,000 meters was rookie Dylan Anthony. Anthony, from Kodiak, furnished a time of 14:34.71, bypassing the PV time of 14:35 - the second-fastest time for UAA this season and the fifth fastest in the UAA record book.

Joining O'Guinn with podium finishes at the 'Last Chance Meet' were junior Katie Krehlik (11:15.04) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and freshman Susan Tanui (16:36.13) in the 5,000 meters. Both finished runner-up.

Producing a solid day in the mid-distance events was freshman Isaac Kangogo. A local of Eldoret, Kenya, Kangogo posted UAA's season-best time of 1:52.60 in the 800 meters after posting a personal-best time of 3:52.62 in the 1500 meters.

The Seawolves will unite for the 2012 GNAC Outdoor Championships in Monmouth, Ore., on May 11-12.
