Alaska Anchorage will play at No. 3 Minnesota State this weekend after having last weekend off. The Seawolves have played their last four games on the road and will play their next six games on the road before hosting Lake Superior State Jan. 4-5. 
Earthquake Update
The Seawolves were getting ready for practice when last Friday’s 7.0 earthquake struck. A water pipe broke near the team’s practice rink on campus but no major damage was sustained. The entire UAA campus was closed Monday and Tuesday which caused the team to practice at Sullivan Arena Monday and Tuesday before leaving for Minnesota. 
 
Series
Minnesota State leads the all-time series with Alaska Anchorage 50-25-10 and leads 28-10-4 in Mankato. The last time the Seawolves recorded a win against the Mavericks was Feb. 3, 2017 and the last three UAA wins in the series have all been in Anchorage. The last time UAA won in Mankato? Feb. 25, 2011.

Minnesota State is ranked No. 3 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 4 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll. Alaska Anchorage is not ranked. 
Points Leader
Senior Nicolas Erb-Ekholm took over the team lead in goals (four) and points (six) after scoring three goals at North Dakota last weekend. 
First Assist
Freshman goalie Christian Stead came up short in his bid for his career win Saturday at North Dakota but he did record his first point with an assist. The last time an UAA goalie recorded an assist was Olivier Mantha at Lake Superior State on Nov. 4, 2017. 
Late Lead
Saturday’s game at North Dakota was the first this season that Alaska Anchorage led after the second period. 
Penalty Shot
The last two penalty shot attempts against UAA have been unsuccessful after Joel Janattuinen’s shot missed. 
Freshman Streak
Freshman Tanner Schachle is on a two-game point streak after recording an assist both nights at North Dakota. 
Upper Classmen
Four of UAA’s five goals scored at UND were by seniors. The senior class leads the team with nine goals and 15 points. The junior class leads the team with nine assists but has the fewest points (10) of any class. 
Last Time Out
Northern Michigan swept the series in Marquette 3-0, 2-1. 
Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will stay on the road and play at Bemidji State Dec. 14-15.
