ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Owen Slinger scored twice to lead Bemidji State to a 2-0 win over the Alaska Anchorage hockey team Friday.

Slinger scored his first goal off a rebound at 15:34 of the first period. Sillinger’s second goal was scored on the powerplay with 55 seconds remaining in the third period.

“At times I liked our game,” said head coach Matt Curley. “However we were not consistent. Scoring is a byproduct of other stuff, hard work, skating and playing relentless. We just weren’t consistent.”

The Beavers finished with a 31-18 edge in shots and were 1-for-4 on the powerplay. The Seawolves were held scoreless on their two power play chances.

Brody Claeys (1-1-0) made 29 saves in goal for UAA.

UAA (1-4-0, 0-3-0) and BSU (3-1-1, 2-1-0) will close out the weekend series Saturday at 4:07 pm.
