ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – No. 7 Minnesota State scored three times on the powerplay in a 4-1 win over Alaska Anchorage in WCHA play Saturday.

Jake Jaremko scored first for the Mavericks on the rebound at 13:55 of the first.

Jordan Xavier tied the game at 1-1 with a goal less than two minutes later for the Seawolves. The goal was the fourth of the season for Xavier, who ranks tied for second on the team and first among freshmen.

Daniel Brickley and Marc Michaelis each scored on the powerplay in the second period for MSU.

C.J. Suess scored his 13th goal of the season shorthanded at 8:25 of the third period.

Olivier Mantha recorded 42 saves for UAA.

Alaska Anchorage (1-15-4, 1-10-3) will host Alabama Huntsville Jan. 12-13.
