BIG RAPIDS, MICH. – Ferris State scored twice on the powerplay in a 5-2 win over Alaska Anchorage in WCHA play Saturday.

Ryker Killins scored on the powerplay at 16:09 of the first period for the Bulldogs.

Killins tallied his second point of the game with an assist on Craig Pefley’s power-play goal at 1:48 of the second.

The Seawolves got on the board at 11:33 of the second thanks to Austin Azurdia’s team-leading seventh goal of the season. Azurdia scored on the doorstep with assists from Tad Kozun and Joe Sofo.

UAA tied the game 32 seconds later after Corey Renwick scored his first career goal. Alex Jackstadt and Zac Masson assisted on the goal.

Craig Pefley scored the game-winner and his second goal of the game for FSU on a rebound at 7:21 of the third period.

Taylor Fernandez completed the Bulldog scoring with a pair of third period goals. He scored with a wrist shot at 16:03 and added an empty-net goal at 18:32.

Olivier Mantha finished with 28 saves for UAA.

Ferris finished with a 33-29 lead in shots.

FSU finished 2-3 on the man-advantage and UAA was 0-5.

Alaska Anchorage (1-8-4, 1-3-3) will host Alaska Fairbanks in the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup Dec. 8-9.
