ANCHORAGE – Alaska Anchorage volleyball coach Chris Green announced the final addition to his team’s roster on Friday as Juneau native Chelsea Peterson has joined the 2013 Seawolves.

A 5-8 outside hitter/defensive specialist, Peterson led the Crimson Bears to ASAA Class 4A State Tournament berths as a junior and senior, making the All-Tournament Team in both 2011 and 2012. She was also a two-time all-tourney honoree at the regional level after helping JDHS to consecutive Region V titles.

“Chelsea had an excellent high school career and has a very good skill set, especially for someone who –because of geography – did not have the opportunity to play club volleyball,” Green said. “She has already proven to be a good teammate and we are happy she chose to become a Seawolf.”

With seven returners from last year’s 16-10 team and seven newcomers, the Seawolves will make their 2013 debut on Saturday, Aug. 24, when they host the annual Green & Gold Alumni exhibition at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex. First serve is set for 9 p.m. and admission is free.
