Strabel wins Mt. Marathon in record time
SEWARD - Former Seawolf All-American runner and skier Eric Strabel claimed the Mount Marathon men's championship here Thursday in the record time of 42 minutes, 55 seconds, breaking the old mark of 43:21 set by former UAA ski coach Bill Spencer in 1981.
The title was Strabel's second in this 86th running of Alaska’s signature July 4th event that ascends to the top of the 3,022-foot Mount Marathon.
