PORTLAND, Ore. – Sophomore Isaac Kangogo was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s Red Lion Male Track Athlete of the Week Monday following his performance at the Occidental Invitational on Saturday.

A local of Eldoret, Kenya, Kangogo collected his first conference weekly honor following a personal best and provisional national qualifying time of 3:50.59 in the 1500 meters in Eagle Rock, Calif. The time is the 10th fastest in league history.

Furnishing the field honor was Saint Martin’s Sam Washington, while Kishia Mitchell of Seattle Pacific garnered the women’s track award and Central Washington’s Becki Duhamel claimed the women’s field accolade.

The Seawolves will head to Monmouth, Ore., this weekend for the 2013 GNAC Outdoor Championships, as both teams aim for league titles.
