PORTLAND, Ore. – Alaska Anchorage sophomore Grace Morgan received co-Great Northwest Athletic Conference Red Lion Track Athlete of the Week honors for April 1-7 following her performance at the annual Willamette Invitational on Saturday.

Morgan, from Salt Spring Island, B.C., posted the league’s fastest time this season in the 100 meters at 12.19 and in the 200 meters at 25.01, good for third in both events. Morgan was also the third led of UAA’s school-record breaking 4x100-meter relay team that crossed at 47.50. That time ranks fourth in GNAC history.

Morgan shares the weekly accolade with Simon Fraser’s Helen Crofts, while Western Washington’s Cheyanna Pinley furnished the field honor. On the men’s side, Northwest Nazarene’s Rimar Christie collected the track award, while Central Washington’s Braden Kelley took home the field honor.

The Seawolves are idle this weekend before heading to the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays (April 18-19), Azusa Pacific Invite (April 19) and the Long Beach State Invite (April 20).
