CORVALLIS, Ore. – Alaska Anchorage’s M’rcy Matsunami scored a 9.6 on her vault Saturday as the Seawolf freshman represented her team at the NCAA Div. I West Regional Championships at Gill Coliseum.

The Omaha, Neb., native became the 12th Seawolf ever to compete as an individual at West Regionals, and just the second on a single apparatus.

Despite scoring the second-lowest of her 11 vaults this year, Matsunami finished the season with UAA records for highest averages in the all-around (38.539) and on uneven bars (9.686).

UAA concluded its team competitions with the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships last month.
