'Wolves set 6 PNQs at Occidental

EAGLE ROCK, Calif. – Highlighted by wins in the  10,000 meters by Dylan Anthony and Ruth Keino, the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves came away with a combined six provisional NCAA qualifying (PNQ) times at the annual Occidental Distance Carnival on Friday evening.

Winning the men’s 10K was Anthony in a time of 30:41.93 for PNQ, leading teammates Yonatan Yilma (31:12.32) and Jake Parisien (31:14.63), who finished runner-up and third, respectively. Isaac Kangogo also posted a PNQ in the men’s 1500 meters at 3:51.85.

Keino, from Kapcheno, Kenya, picked up the win in the women’s 10K with a PNQ of 34:59.11, while Katie Krehlik set a provisional time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase when she crossed in fourth at 11:08.41. Also posting PNQ’s on the women’s side were juniors Ivy O’Guinn (4:27.70) and Susan Bick (4:34.40), who completed the 1500 meters in second and fourth, respectively.

Combined the Seawolves furnished seven top-10 results.

The Seawolves are back in action tomorrow with the Cal State Northridge Invitational.
