ANCHORAGE – Alaska Anchorage junior Lasse Moelgaard-Nielsen will look to qualify for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games by competing in the Davos FIS Langlauf Weltcup on Feb. 16-17 and at the 2013 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships on Feb. 21-24.

Moelgaard-Nielsen, who will compete for his native country of Denmark, will race in the sprint classical on Saturday and the 15K freestyle race on Sunday in Davos, Switzerland. Following that, the cross country skier will head to Val di Fiemme in the Trentino region of Italy for the championships.

Enough points at these two events could earn Moelgaard-Nielsen a trip to Sochi, Russia, a year from now. The Copenhagen local will miss the RMISA/NCAA West Regional on Feb. 22-23, but will return to UAA for the 2013 NCAA Championships in March.
