NEW ORLEANS – The Alaska Anchorage men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams set a program first when they were ranked in Week 3 of the Division II U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll on Tuesday.

This week marks the first in the National Team Computer Rankings in which times, marks and scores exclusively from the current season were used – resulting in a big-time rankings shake-up. With UAA in its first season of competition, they were unable to be ranked previously.

The UAA women’s team enters the poll at No. 15, trailing only one Great Northwest Athletic Conference foe, Simon Fraser, while the men’s team, ranked No. 22, leads the league.

Leading Div. II on the women’s side is Grand Valley State, while Saint Augustine’s is No. 1 in the men’s ranking.

The Seawolves are in action this weekend at the University of Washington Husky Classic (Feb. 8-9) and the UW Open (Feb. 10).
