PORTLAND, Ore. – Alaska Anchorage junior Kyle Fossman was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s Red Lion co-Player of the Week for men’s basketball on Monday, after boosting the Seawolves to a pair of home victories.

The 6-foot guard totaled 41 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four steals as UAA won Thursday’s third-place showdown with Central Washington, 98-69, and edged Northwest Nazarene, 73-72, on Saturday.

He made 14 of 28 shots, including 7 of 13 three-pointers, extending his string of games with a three-pointer to 27 – tied for third-longest in program history.  After scoring 26 points and grabbing a career-high nine boards against CWU, Fossman went the entire 40 minutes against NNU, scoring all 15 of his points after halftime and assisting on the eventual game-winning basket.

He currently ranks 37th in GNAC history in three-pointers made (134) and sixth in three-point percentage (.460).

Fossman shared his first career GNAC weekly honor with Western Washington junior forward Austin Bragg.

The Seawolves (14-5, 7-4 GNAC) are back on the road this week for road games against Saint Martin’s (Thur., Feb. 7) and Western Oregon (Sat., Feb. 9).
