PORTLAND, Ore. – Alaska Anchorage senior Alysa Horn has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Red Lion co-Player of the Week after her MVP performance in the recent AT&T Hoops Classic.

Horn, a 6-0 forward, averaged 20.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.7 blocked shots, 2.7 steals and 1.7 assists per game in leading the Seawolves to wins over BYU-Hawaii (100-68), Eastern New Mexico (82-40) and Cal State L.A. (66-56).

The Kodiak native scored 25 points in UAA’s opening win over the Seasiders and finished with 21 points and a career-high 16 rebounds against Cal State L.A. in a rematch of last season’s NCAA West Region Championships first-round game.

It is the fourth career player-of-the-week honor for Horn, who shared the award with Western Washington’s Britt Harris.

Horn and the Seawolves (7-2, 1-0 GNAC) are off until Jan. 3 and Jan. 5 when they host nationally ranked WWU and Simon Fraser at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
