UAA split a WCHA road series with St. Cloud State, Feb. 17-18, 2012 ... UAA picked up a 3-2 overtime win on Friday night, before SCSU retaliated on Saturday with a 8-3 victory at the National Hockey Center ... on Friday, the Seawolves received two goals from freshman F Eric Scheid – including the game winner – and one from then-junior F Daniel Naslund ... on Saturday, the Seawolves kept the game close before the Huskies exploded for five goals in the third period for the conference split ... UAA goals were scored by senior F/D Curtis Leinweber, sophomore  F Mark Pustin and then-freshman F Scott Allen.

LAST TIME OUT: The Seawolves entertain the St. Cloud State Huskies following a conference series in Bemidji, Minn., Nov. 23-24 ... the teams skated to a 2-2 tie on Friday night before BSU won, 5-4, on Saturday ... on Friday, the Seawolves struck first in the second frame with a tally from freshman F Blake Tatchell, before allowing the Beavers back-to-back goals in the third ... sophomore D Austin Coldwell found the equalizer at 15:29 of the period to send the game into extra minutes ... on Saturday, the Seawolves got behind 4-1 at the halfway mark of the game, before coming back to tie the game 4-4 with less than five minutes to go ... unfortunately, the comeback fell short as BSU netted the game winner at 17:31 ... sophomore F Scott Allen registered two goals and one assist to lead the Seawolves.

SEAWOLF BITES: Nov. 23 was UAA’s second straight 2-2 tie after tying then-No. 2 ranked Minnesota 2-2 on Nov. 10 … UAA has played four overtime games this season, with each ending in a tie … the tie also broke BSU’s three-game winning streak against UAA … the Seawolves registered a season-low one penalty, and placed a season-high 32 shots on goal and a season-high four in overtime ... the 14 SOG in the second was also a season-high … on Saturday night, UAA came back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game at 4-4 but BSU prevailed in the final minutes with the game-winning strike … even though UAA’s comeback fell short, UAA did tally two power-play goals, doubling its PPG total from the first nine games … the Seawolves registered a season-high-tying 11 points and a season-high seven assists ... UAA outshot BSU, 27-23 – just the second time the Seawolves have outshot an opponent this season the loss on Nov. 24 gives UAA a six-game winless streak … UAA is 0-3-2 against ranked opponents this season … the Seawolves have three WCHA points in six league games, good for 12th in the conference standings … UAA is fairing much better on Saturday nights, going 1-1-3, with the loss coming Nov. 24 against BSU ... PLAYER NOTES: Individually, sophomore F Scott Allen leads the Seawolves with six goals and is tied with freshman F Blake Tatchell for the lead in points with eight ... Allen, who was named to the Kendall Hockey Classic all-tournament team, has easily bypassed his goal total from his rookie campaign (3) ... Allen also leads UAA in shots on goal with 21 and a .286 scoring percentage ... Allen recorded his second multi-point game of the season with two goals and one assist, Nov. 24 – he also posted two goals and an assist on Oct. 20 against Mercyhurst ... Tatchell (3-5–8), from North Battleford, Sask., is currently tied for No. 16 in the nation for points per game (.80) and tied for No. 7 in the WCHA (.83) ... Tatchell is also enjoying a career-high three-game point streak (1-3–4) ... after posting two assists over the weekend, junior F Matt Bailey leads UAA with six helpers ... Bailey leads all active UAA skaters with 21 career goals and 44 career points ... the Oakbank, Manitoba, native has scored at least one point in five games this season, including two multi-point games ... UAA is 1-1-3 when Bailey registers a point ... scoring in a team-high seven games is senior F Alex Gellert ... Gellert is tied for third on the team with Bailey with seven points and has five goals – already bypassing his goal total from any of his previous campaigns ... senior F Jordan Kwas picked up a helper against BSU, giving UAA a 1-0-4 record when he furnishes a point ... Kwas needs one more tally to tie his goal total from his first two seasons ... receiving both starts in net against the Beavers was junior G Rob Gunderson … Gunderson (combined 48 saves) earned the tie on Friday and the loss for a 1-1-4 record … recording his first point of the season was sophomore F Andrew Pettitt on Nov. 24, while rookies Chris Williams, Bobby Murphy and Hayden Trupp are looking for their first collegiate points.

INJURY UPDATE: Junior F Brett Cameron fractured his collarbone on Nov. 23 against Bemidji State and is expected to be out through the holidays.

WARNER PROMOTED: Head bench boss Dave Shyiak announced Nov. 19 that senior defenseman Scott Warner has been named an assistant captain for the remainder of the season ... Warner, a local of Anchorage, will join junior Matt Bailey as an assistant captain, while senior Chris Crowell dresses as this season’s captain.

Junior F Andrew Pickering (Vancouver, B.C.) retired from hockey due to multiple concussions and other health concerns, announced on Nov. 5 ... head bench boss Dave Shyiak said the UAA program will continue to help Pickering as he moves forward.

2012-13 SEAWOLF CAPTAINS: For the first time since the 2009-10 season, UAA has a lone captain in senior F Chris Crowell, while junior F Matt Bailey and senior D Scott Warner dress as the assistant captains.
