'Wolves polled 8th, 13th in nation
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Alaska Anchorage men’s and women’s track & field teams continued to be ranked in the top 15 nationally, according to the national team computer rankings conducted by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday. The men’s team remained at No. 13, while the women’s team moved up one position to No. 8.
The men’s team, which has been polled in the top 20 since the start of the 2010 season, is the lone Great Northwest Athletic Conference team in the ranking. Saint Augustine’s leads the nation for the second straight week, while Texas A&M-Kingsville and Abilene Christian are No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
On the women’s side, the Seawolves lead the GNAC, while Seattle Pacific is No. 11. The top three remains unchanged from the preseason poll with Grand Valley State at No. 1, Adams State at No. 2 and Lincoln (Mo.) at No. 3.
UAA is in action this weekend at the Stanford Invitational (April 6-7) and the San Francisco State Distance (April 6).
