ANCHORAGE – Applications for the 28th annual Crow Pass Crossing, sponsored by the University of Alaska Anchorage Milers Booster Club, are now open. Southcentral Alaska's premier backcountry distance race begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 23.

The last chance to sign up for the race will be at the mandatory pre-race meeting at 5 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex on the UAA campus.

The race starts with a 6 a.m. meeting at the Crow Pass Trail Head parking lot, the end of Crow Mine Road, six miles out of Girdwood.

The race is approximately 24 miles along the Crow Pass Trail from its start near Girdwood to the Eagle River Nature Center at the end of Eagle River Road. The total gradient is 5,959 feet, with a peak elevation gain of 3,888 feet. The race is limited to 140 entrants.

There is a $60 application fee. A portion of each application fee will be donated to the not-for-profit Eagle River Nature Center. The rest of the money will go towards event costs and the UAA Milers Booster Club.
