Nicky Rose
Assistant Coach
15th season at UAA in 2014
Education: B.A., Exercise Sports Science, SW Texas State, 2000

Nicky Rose enters her 15th season as an assistant coach with the Seawolves in 2014. Her primary responsibilities include recruiting, match preparation and on-court instruction.

Rose has played a key role in UAA’s current run of six straight winning seasons, including the 2009 Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship and four NCAA Tournament berths between 2009-14. A setter in her playing days, Rose has helped mentor such standouts as 2009 GNAC Player-of-the-Year Calli Scott and two-time All-GNAC performer Kimya Jafroudi.

She was a four-year letterwinner at Southwest Texas State, where she earned second team All-Southland Conference honors three times. She was the Southland Conference Tournament MVP as a senior, and was named to the all-tournament team as a junior.

The career record-holder for digs at SWT, Rose also received the school's Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in 1998.

Rose established herself on the local volleyball scene as a prep star at Anchorage's Dimond High School.
