Dede Allen
Assoc. Director of Athletics (Compliance/Academics & SWA)

Dede Allen has held the title as associate director of athletics at the University of Alaska Anchorage since 1994. Her responsibilities include the areas of academics and compliance as well as fulfilling the role of Senior Woman Administrator.

 

She served on the NCAA Division II Management Council, representing the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, and served two three-year term as a member of the West Region Advisory Committee to the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee.She is currently the Chair of the West Region and a member of the 8-person National DII Women's Basketball Committee. She is also a past president of the National Association of Athletic Compliance Coordinators as well as a past member of the NCAA Division II Legislation Committee.

 

Prior to her move to Alaska, Allen worked at the University of North Carolina at Ashville for eight years. She was associate AD for one year after serving as assistant AD from 1990-93. Allen was in charge of the budget, compliance and supervision of academic services. Prior to her promotion to assistant AD, she served as the business and facility manager at her alma mater.

 

Allen is a 1984 graduate of UNC Ashville with a B.S. in financial management. She earned her M.S. degree in human resource development at Western Carolina University in 1993.
