ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Jonah Renouf scored his first goal of the season but it wasn’t enough as Alaska Anchorage fell to Lake Superior State 3-1 Saturday.

The Lakers built a quick 2-0 lead after scoring two goals in a span of 36 seconds in the first period.

Jonah Renouf cut the LSSU lead to 2-1 with a power play goal at 14:01 of the second. Renouf collected a loose puck in the slot and found the back of the net. Nicolas Erb-Ekholm and Tomi Hiekkavirta assisted on the goal.

Brendan McKay scored the third goal of the game for Lake Superior off the faceoff at 16:57 of the third period.

UAA led in shots for the second night in a row 31-30. The Seawolves finished 1-for-3 on the man-advantage and held the Lakers scoreless on their two chances.

Brody Claeys made 27 saves in net for the Green and Gold.

Senior Jeremiah Luedtke appeared in his 100th career game for UAA.

Alaska Anchorage will host Northern Michigan Jan. 11-12.
