ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Scott Patterson and Denali Strabel claimed victories at the Turnagain Arm Trail Run Thursday.

Patterson, who competed in cross country skiing for the United States at the 2018 Olympics, covered the eight-mile course in 49:59.

Strabel won the women’s race with a time of 1:01.38.

The race alternates directions every year with this year’s course running south to north from Rainbow Trailhead to Potter Trailhead.

Michael Connelly won the shorter four-mile race in 22:29, with Tatum Witter winning the women’s race in 26:15.

Overall 172 runners competed in the races which are a fundraiser for the UAA ski teams.
