ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Bemidji State completed the weekend sweep of Alaska Anchorage with a 4-0 win Saturday.

The Seawolves held the Beavers scoreless for nearly two periods before Myles Fitzgerald scored during an offensive flurry with 90 seconds left in the period.

UAA struggled to mount a comeback as the team was whistled for 16 penalty minutes in the third period. The Seawolves’ lone power play opportunity of the period was cut short due to a penalty.

“It was a tight game until our discipline cost us,” said head coach Matt Thomas. “You can’t expect to win on the road when you kill consecutive penalties. It wore us out and hindered our ability to create offense.”

Jay Dickman and Brendan Harris each scored on the powerplay at 3:48 and 9:55 respectively.

Charlie Combs scored the final Beaver goal with a high shot at 14:01.

Olivier Mantha finished with 33 saves for the Seawolves.

The Beavers led 37-20 in shots and finished 2-6 on the man-advantage. The Seawolves were 0-2 on the powerplay.

Alaska Anchorage (1-13-4, 1-8-3) will be off until Jan. 5-6 when it hosts Minnesota State.
