ANCHORAGE – Victor Sanders scored 24 points and grabbed three steals and Nate Sherwood added 17 points and five assists Saturday to lead Idaho to a 75-66 victory over Cal Poly in the 3rd/5th-place game of the GCI Great Alaska Shootout at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The Vandals (3-3) controlled action for much of the contest, getting 14 points and three steals from point guard Perrion Callandret, plus 10 points and nine rebounds from forward Brayon Blake.

The Mustangs (3-4) were led by 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting from guard Victor Joseph, but the rest of his teammates shot just 14 of 46 (.304) from the floor. Cal Poly forward Luke Meikle recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
