ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The University of Alaska Anchorage athletic department and the American Cancer Society are teaming up to raise funds at four UAA athletic events.

The American Cancer Society will be in attendance at the athletic events to raise funds that will be distributed to fellow Alaskans in their battle against cancer. All proceeds of Seawolves vs Cancer will directly support the American Cancer Society’s patient lodging crisis in Alaska, providing free rooms for cancer patients requiring treatment far from home that may otherwise be unable to receive treatment because of the cost of accommodation.

The first event will be held at Saturday’s (Nov. 18) hockey game against Michigan Tech. Follow-up events will be held at men’s basketball on Jan. 20, gymnastics on February 3rd and women’s basketball on February 15th.
